Budapest

I went to Budapest for my close friend’s Hen-do and it was the perfect mix of sightseeing, pampering and partying.

This is such a beautiful city and architecturally it is one of the most stunning I have visited so far I think. Also, by night is when the city really shows it’s beauty as the city is lit up by key landmarks such as the Hungarian Houses of Parliament.

An interesting fact if you haven’t been to Budapest, is that it is actually split in to two; ‘Buda’ being one half, which is the more traditional and historical part and ‘Pest’, which is the modern side of the city. Both are just connected by a bridge, making it easy for you to visit both sides.

In the day we found ourselves sightseeing some of the key sites: Houses of Parliament, Heroes square, Buda castle & Fisherman’s bastion. All were extremely stunning and fascinating to take in their culture and the view from the Buda Castle is amazing!

We also had a girly day at the spa, which was a very different experience to a spa day here in the UK. 1) It being outdoors 2) Food and alcohol at a walk up bar and 3) They had a whirlpool (every spa needs one). Also, the street food market was pretty cool too and had the traditional Hungarian foods as well as other European foods.

As I mentioned before Budapest is just absolutely stunning by night and hopefully the pictures do it justice. We took a cocktail cruise along the river, which was pretty good to get us ready for the evening ahead while enjoying the beautiful sunset and transitioning in to the night.

After that we went to a few bars in the main city and with how cheap drinks are here, you can enjoy it compared to London prices.

But, if you are looking for a more chilled one, having a few cocktails with friends by the river just taking in those views, is never a bad idea.

As a tradition of my blog posts I love to end it with a beautiful memory made on the trip and these pictures sum it up for me.

Celebrating a close friend marrying the love her life and our friendship still going strong while technically having our first ‘Trio’ holiday. It was lovely.
