New York

Times Square

New York, New York…
This place is everything you thought it would be, plus more. The vibrant city lit up by skyscrapers and digital billboards will give you a whole different perspective after leaving here. I loved every second and felt at home quicker than I could of ever thought. Picking up street names, knowing what trains to catch and even catching cabs like a local.

Empire State Building

The views from the Empire State Building are breath-taking, especially if you’re able to see this at night. It really makes you realise just how big New York city is, with the never-ending view of lights and the sense of life around you.

High Line

The high line is a great place to capture those scenic snaps of New York, without needing to worry about getting caught in the constant hustle and bustle of it all. It’s a great spot to take in the sun and chill out for a little while too.

Subway

The Subway makes it so easy to get around in New York so I definitely recommend picking up a metro card and just top it up with whatever you think is necessary. It’s quick, cheap, air conditioned and tip-free. Can’t go wrong.

If you’re used to travelling on the tube, you will find it pretty easy to pick up the different trains and routes running on the subway. So don’t worry, and people are pretty friendly there and happy to help.

I went to New York for 4 nights and 5 days, but we were still able to get quite a lot done in this short time. We knocked out pretty much all of the typical tourist sights, but you will need to plan before hand to make sure you get it all done. We used an app called Trip-it, which is pretty handy for planning your own itineraries to share with a friend or group.

But, I would definitely recommend going for longer. There is just so much to do in this city, you’ll find it pretty difficult to get bored.

Guess this calls for another trip back 🙂
